Microneedling San Diego
Rejuvenate Your Skin’s Appearance with Microneedling Treatments
At Arise Acupuncture, we provide microneedling treatments to patients in San Diego to help rejuvenate your skin and promote collagen production for a healthy and glowing appearance. Also known as collagen induction therapy, microneedling treatments are the best minimally invasive procedures for anti-aging today.

What Is Microneedling?
Microneedling is a type of cosmetic procedure that helps rejuvenate your skin by boosting collage production. Doing so reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. During a session, a device will be used to make small pricks on the skin with short, sterilized needles to promote your body’s natural healing response. The result is more plumped, youthful, and glowing skin.

What Are the Benefits of Microneedling?
The various benefits of microneedling include but are not limited to the following:
-
Generates new collagen and skin tissue for smoother, more toned skin
-
Improves the look of scars
-
Increases circulation to the face, improving skin texture and appearance
-
Reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
-
Minimizes pores
-

Microneedling can be done on any area of the body and enhances the texture of your skin. After a session, any topical creams or gels you use to moisturize, protect, or balance the pH level of your skin will absorb better.

What Happens in a Microneedling Treatment?

At Arise Acupuncture, our microneedling treatments are combined with LED light therapy to ensure an optimal increase in collagen production. During a microneedling treatment, a numbing agent will be applied to the skin. After, you will rest under an LED light therapy mask to help encourage collagen production and even out your skin tone. Once this has been complete, we will begin microneedling.
Microneedling treatments take about 15 to 30 minutes to complete, depending on which part of the body is being treated. After the treatment is done, we put marine bioactive peptides and Swiss vegan apple stem cells serum on your skin to further maximize the effects of the stimulation and rejuvenation started by microneedling.

How to Prepare for a Microneedling Treatment

When preparing for a microneedling treatment, it is important to avoid taking any NSAIDs, drugs, or supplements that thin your blood. You should also avoid taking any other medications, including topical acne medications that include retinoids at least a week before. It is also important to note that you should refrain from shaving the area that will be treated with microneedling as doing so may cause skin irritation during the treatment. Avoid any excess UV damage a week leading up to your session.
On the day of your treatment, do not apply any makeup, sunscreen, or lotion to the area that will be treated. If you have any additional questions about how to prepare for a microneedling treatment, give us a call.

Microneedling With an Acupuncturist Versus a Medical Spa

At Arise Acupuncture, we set ourselves apart from a typical microneedling appointment at a medical spa by including a full acupuncture treatment with each of our sessions. This is the main difference between a microneedling session with an acupuncturist versus one with a physician or esthetician.
A microneedling treatment followed by an acupuncture treatment helps maximize results by increasing blood flow and boosting energy or Qi to the face.

How Long Does it Take to See Results from Microneedling?

Patients often see results from microneedling around 2 weeks after their initial treatment. It is normal to notice an immediate glow right after a session as well. You will start to see visible results over several weeks that could continue for up to 6 months.
At Arise Acupuncture, we recommend anywhere between 2 to 8 treatments for our patients to see results. Some patients might require a single treatment once per year, whereas another might need to come in more regularly. For patients treating deep wrinkles, significant sun damage, stretch marks, and/or scarring, we recommend 6 to 8 treatments before seeing results.

As microneedling is cumulative, the more treatments you go through, the better the results will be. Microneedling treatments should be spaced out every 4 to 6 weeks.
